5 More Power Lords Figures Coming Soon
In a post called "Deploying SOON," the Four Horsemen have revealed 2 new Power Soldiers and 3 new variations on the Ggripptogg mold - and dagnabbit if they don't all look better than the last ones. The four-armed brute on the far right was teased at Toypocalypse 3 last year, and the blue Power Soldier looks a heck of a lot like Cobra Commander. So naturally, of course, I have to get these too. Harrumph. Check 'em out! There's a Spider-Man-esque combo shown, plus the close-ups of the instrument panels on the larger figures look like they're very early 1980s. Well done!

Four Horsemen Power Lords New York Comic Con Exclusive Ggrapptikk Grunt (Pink) Action Figure
Technically a new character in the Power Lords canon, this Ggrapptikk Grunt (Pink) is one of two figures at New York Comic Con - the reverse color was sold there as well, with spare heads as of yet undistributed. Each figure is made of 17 pieces, with a two-piece staff. While larger than the Power Soldiers, they are slightly simpler with no ankle joints but instead four wrist joints.

Power Lords NYCC Ggrapptikk Grunt Figures Arriving
The 2013 New York Comic Con Ggrapptikk Grunt Exclusive Action Figures are shipping now - mine arrived Wednesday of this week (November 6) via USPS. As far as I can tell, there was no ship notice. One of mine was #303, the other was #154.
For those who ask about delivery times in the future, orders were up on October 17, the item was postmarked on November 4, and it arrived November 6.
So that's 18 days to ship, 2 days to arrive for those keeping track.
Which proves what I've been saying all along, that FedEx - previously the exclusive means of delivery from Store Horsemen - sucks. USPS tends to be a lot faster, so huzzah and kudos to the Horsemen to switching to a much faster and cheaper shipping method.

Review: Four Horsemen Power Lords Power-Con Exclusive Elite Power Soldier Action Figure
This is the white one! Despite being from Power Lords in 2013, this white Elite Power Soldier looks more like it fell out of a Star Wars concept sketch from 1975. The helmet, coloring, and unique chest sculpting reek of McQuarrie's early trooper concepts as well as one of the various female "Luke"s, so I think most older action figure fans will see this in person and be immediately drawn to it. The fact that it's a well-engineered figure is just a lovely bonus.

New Power Soldiers: Brown, Grey, Pre-Orders in November
Along with the reissues of the black and white Power Soldiers from Power-Con, the Four Horsemen announced these two new Power Soldiers with a pre-order date of November. Presumably, they are interested in actually making enough of them for demand, and I applaud them for this.
What's more, they also posted shots of variant heads for each Power Lords figure - which makes me wonder what I have to do to get some of those! (Heck, I'd have ordered more black and white figures if I knew I could get more heads.) Check 'em out.

NYCC Power Lords - Not Available to General Public
It took a couple of days, but the Ggrapptikk Soldiers sold out and will not be sold to the general public. If you aren't already buddies with a club member, it might be time to make some new friends so you won't miss out on future releases.

Power Lords Ggrapptikk Grunts For Sale Now
Yes, they are! If you're a club member, that is. These items are not yet sold out - click here to get Ggrapptikk Grunts at Store Horsemen. Singles or the set are available, and club members enjoy a 10% discount.
Given that the figures did not sell out at New York Comic Con 2013, have not sold out yet, and require a pricey club membership to order, it is very likely there will be some units for sale for non-club members on October 19, 2013 at 3:00 PM Eastern.

NYCC Variant Power Lords Heads Coming Somewhere, Somehow
Two more heads - at least - are seen in these bags! The picture has been circulating on the Source Horsemen and October Toys forums, supposedly from Facebook but as I am not on Facebook I can't find it. I'm reading that these may go to Fan Club members - and I sure hope so! It looks like Ggripptogg's head as well as the fishy blue redeco's head are in here. More as we have it!
NYCC Power Lords Exclusives: Online Sale Thursday
PSA: The Outer Space Men NYCC White Star edition are up for grabs on Wednesday while the Power Lords Ggrapptikk Grunts
will go on sale this Thursday, October 17, at 3:00 PM Eastern. The
Outer Space Men are open to the public, while the Ggrapptikk Grunts are
going to Fan Club members only - how this will be done, I'm not sure
yet. Also, it means you may not be able to order both at the same time,
allowing Store Horsemen to double their workload and restrict saving
you on shipping should you wish to buy both sets.
The Power Lords figures are $13 each, $25 for the pair, and/or 25% off for Club Members.
The Outer Space Men are $70 for the lot ($35 per 3-pack), or $11/16 each.

NYCC Power Lords Revealed: Ggrapptikk Soldiers!
A short window from reveal to the release of these figures - less than a week - New York Comic Con's exclusive Ggrapptikk Grunt figures will be sold for $13 each (or $25 for the pair) this weekend at booth #102. Click here to see big pictures and more at Source Horsemen.
Power Lords Fan Club members will get first crack at it, and that 10% discount qualifies. A pair of these guys should cost you US$34.50 delivered. If you have friends into this line, I strongly suggest combining your orders to save on shipping, not only for you but also so the Horsemen have to pack fewer boxes and we all get our figures that much faster.
No specific on-sale time or date has been mentioned for non-con-goers, other than it will be after the convention closes on Sunday. Stay tuned for more!

NYCC to Get Power Lords Exclusive - But What?
Coming to New York Comic Con, and confirmed at Source Horsemen, will be an unknown Power Lords item. It should be for sale at the Onell Design
booth #102. I don't know what it is - I would assume it's a recolor of
Ggripptogg, but this is based on nothing. It could be more Power
Soldiers, which would be nice as those are great figures. More as we have it!

Review: Four Horsemen Power Lords Power-Con Exclusive Power Soldier Action Figure
The Power Lords
was one of those old sci-fi lines with a fascinating backstory and few
loyal fans - it was born out of a catch-all sci-fi line based on the
works of Wayne Barlowe back in the 1980s, but mutated into a line of
more or less totally original designs between Barlowe and Revell, the
manufacturer. This line has been in varying stages of development for
years, and the Power Soldier was a surprise debut piece - rather than a clear figure like in Outer Space Men,
the Four Horsemen took this license and instead opted to generate new,
original "troopers" based on the original character Adam Power. There
will be more - at least a blue and a red Power Soldier have been
revealed in addition to the black Power Soldier and the white Elite
Power Soldier.

Power Lords + Glyos = Compatibility
My Power-Con exclusive Power Lords Power Soldier and Elite Power Soldier showed up in the FedEx today just after lunch, meaning I finally got to find out just why nobody was posting pictures of Onell Design or Outer Space Men figure parts swapped in with these new sci-fi marvels.
The good news is that the Power Lords from the Four Horsemen use the Glyos system, but with a twist. Many of the parts - like the shoulders and head - use the traditional full-size Glyos plug. The elbows, wrists, and ankles use a smaller Glyos plug as seen in The Outer Space Men hands and feet for Alpha 7 and Gemini. Due to some peg gender-bending, you can't put the OSM hands on the Power Lords wrists - plugs plus plugs and holes plus holes won't work here. The same is true of the feet - you may only swap those between Power Soldiers.
The figures are 3 3/4-inch scale, more or less, putting them right at home with your Outer Space Men and Star Wars action figures. On a shelf, these are probably more likely to go with non-Glyos figures due to the realism of sculpts and the fact that while some of the parts swap nicely, others don't.
Getting the existing Glyos parts into a Power Soldier torso is tricky - the hole is recessed deeply in the shoulders, and the Power Soldier ball shoulders look positively wonky on an Outer Space Men torso. The legs can sort of be swapped onto the Onell hips, but they don't really work on the OSM. Heads from other figures don't fit easily in the Power Lords socket other than the Banimon offerings, but you can get some long, narrow pieces to fit in there as you see an arm and a ray gun in the above pictures.
I've only had these for a short while, and a longer review with impressions will be posted to 16bit.com on Wednesday. In the meantime, enjoy the pictures and let me know what you're coming up with!

Power-Con Exclusive Power Lords Packaging
The Power Lords from Power-Con are shipping from Store Horsemen, and mine just came today. While the Four Horsemen did show a folded-over header card packaging akin to the Outer Space Men exclusives, you can see here they opted to do a sealed plastic bag with a sticker, complete with a hand-written number. The Power Soldier you see here is #27 of 250 (and then some), and we'll be reviewing him at the 16bit.com Figure of the Day on Wednesday.
We're experimenting with the new figure format in our labs right now and we're quite pleased with them. As long as redeco fatigue doesn't set in, this is probably going to be the best Glyos-compatible figure you buy all year. The parts are not fully compatible with all the other figures - we'll get to that soon - but there's a lot to love here.

Power Soldier Re-Run - Get the Missing Power-Con Figures
Did you miss the black and white Power Soldiers? The bad news is that the Four Horsemen oversold the run to the tune of about 200 pieces.
Good news - the Four Horsemen are going to run more! Originally an underannounced 250 piece run, the duo will be open for pre-order for 72 hours beginning this Thursday, September 19. Pre-orders will close Sunday, September 22. For additional details, visit Source Horsemen. All I can say is kudos for extending the run - as someone who (I think) made it in under the wire, I'm very happy to see more are being made and that collectors can get what they want (and that the Four Horsemen can take advantage of the interest in their sizable investment in development of this property.)

Power Lords Power-Con Exclusives Up, Sell Out Immediately
The on-sale time wasn't announced, but the figures were limited to 5 per person and sold out in just a few minutes. The targeted on-sale time was 5 PM Eastern, and they didn't go live until about 5:09 PM. They were "on hold" stating at about 5:20 PM, so they were indeed hot stuff. The black soldier was the first to sell out, but both the Power Soldiers were gone in no time flat.
Here are the now no longer relevant details.

Power Lords Fan Club Details, Pricing, Ordering Revealed
The long-promised Power Lords Fan Club is up for ordering! Source Horsemen has the full details, but here's the really short version, followed by the short version.
Shipping is $12 extra on all levels - even the $20 level. Level 2 is arguably the most compelling with an exclusive figure - but US residents will have to shell out a whopping $72 to get this one.
There are three levels, and shipping is not included. If you want a figure, a shirt, an early order window, and a discount, it's $60 (+$12). If you want some paper stuff and the early order window, it's only $20 (+$12). If you want signed art and a whole mess of stuff, it's $100 (+$12).
It may be worthwhile for the discount. The membership lasts one year, and nobody is sure how many figures will be made in that first year. Also, how badly do you want that exclusive Ggrabbtargg?

Power Lords Preview, Glyos Mini Fit Comments
Matt Doughty of Onell Design - the toy engineering guru behind Glyos, Outer Space Men, and now Power Lords - made a post demonstrating the form fit between his creations and Power Lords, plus dropped in a few key tidbits on the upcoming line.
He writes:
"The neck is the same on the Elite Power Soldier, Standard Power Soldier and Adam Power. The Glyos fit function is at the bottom of the neck, and the top is a ball joint. Lord Power does not have a separate neck joint, so the look would not be compromised by a break point.
The prototypes that were sold around SDCC are quite special, as we had to alter a few of the peg sizes on the final production designs.
The elbows and ankles are now the micro Glyos diameter peg size, and the holes on the bottoms of the feet are also sporting the micro sized female fits. These changes were made to make the connections stronger and take stress off the wall stock in the thinner areas. We also strengthened every other standard connection point throughout all the figures."

Power Lords Prototypes On Sale This Week
A truly limited edition! Six of each of the five figures shown at the last Toypocalypse show will be for sale at San Diego Comic-Con for $90 or $110 each! Rather than sit on the test shots, the Four Horsemen will sell three at the show and three on their web site - a rather brilliant idea and a great way to raise some funds.
