Review: Four Horsemen Power Lords Barlowe Color Concept Ggripptogg (Grey and Black) Action Figure

Another year, another premium-priced exclusive! No doubt due to Toy Tokyo needing to make a few bucks on the item, 2014's Power Lords exclusive Ggripptogg (Grey and Black) costs nearly twice as much as a normal Ggripptogg - even the ones with added deco were only $15 each. It's a shame - not as bad as the Outer Space Men of 2012, but what are you gonna do? I bought it, and curse me kilts, it's good. This figure - and indeed everything Glyos always ever - can benefit greatly from a color change, and it turns out that the Ggripptogg body looks better with a) added paint and b) less pink. Who knew?

Power Lords Packaging Samples

Check it out - Adam Power, Lord Power, Ggripptogg, Ggrabbtargg, and a blue Ggrapptikk with extra limbs, heads, and other parts are pictured at Source Horsemen.  According to the forums, it seems likely these will be shipping to people in the next month June.

If what I saw in a video preview was right, the blue one with the bonus gear is exclusive to Power Lords Club members.  Not a bad figure.  Also note Adam Power and Lord Power each include bonus alternate heads.

Review: Four Horsemen Power Lords Slate Zone Elite Power Soldier Action Figure

This is the brown/tan one! While the first two Power Soldiers in black and white sold out in minutes and required an additional run, the Slate Zone Elite Power Soldier stuck around for a while - the normal grey Slate Zone figure sold quickly, but this one was the first Power Lords figure to be available for several weeks. It's a shame, it's a nice figure!

Power Lords Package Art Revealed, Gorgeous

Rather than wait for Toy Fair, the Four Horsemen posted the front and back of their new packaging for Power Lords!  It's beautiful.

World Premiere: New Power Lords Packaging! pretty much says it all - click here and cast your gaze on the finest packaging since the last finest packaging you've seen.  The Horsemen are really exquisite graphic designers, they really made this look like it fell out of 1983.

5 More Power Lords Figures Coming Soon

In a post called "Deploying SOON," the Four Horsemen have revealed 2 new Power Soldiers and 3 new variations on the Ggripptogg mold - and dagnabbit if they don't all look better than the last ones.   The four-armed brute on the far right was teased at Toypocalypse 3 last year, and the blue Power Soldier looks a heck of a lot like Cobra Commander.  So naturally, of course, I have to get these too.  Harrumph.  Check 'em out!  There's a Spider-Man-esque combo shown, plus the close-ups of the instrument panels on the larger figures look like they're very early 1980s.  Well done!
